I've always been passionate about Interiors. After many years of being "Jack-of-all-trades,-but-master-of-none", I decided it was time to head back to college pursue a new career path. After a fantastic 2.5 years of hard but rewarding study - I recently graduated with a Professional Diploma in Interior Design from the KLC School of Design in London. I was also honoured to be presented with the KLC Personal Achievement Award for my class.

The Interior Designer's Pantomime

"A long time ago in a land far away, (but close enough to Chelsea Harbour to source the perfect fabrics) a group of interior designers got together with Lavinia Dargie and Ian Walton to produce a fashion show where all the costumes were made from furnishing fabric. The show was a success and a dream was born to produce a full-scale panto on Broadway.....it made it to Fulham Broadway.

The first pantomime, Alice in Decorland, was directed by Ian Walton and featured a stellar cast: Joanna Wood as Alice, Tim Gosling as the Rabbit and Nina Cambell as the Queen of Hearts.

Nina Campbell introduced genuine musical talent into the next year's production, Cinderella, when she invited Russell Pen (singing coach to Kylie Minogue) to join the team as musical director.

Can anyone guess the designers/actors?

As the team and the productions grew so did the need for a real theatre. In 2007, the Cochrane Theater in Holborn hosted Aladdin and the show successfully raised over £250,000 for Starlight Children's Foundation."

All in all, expectations are very high indeed for 2010! This year, the forth interior designers' pantomime - Snow White and the Seven Designers, aptly named Dapper, Snappy, Snazzy, Natty, Classy, Dizzy and Taupey, will be held in the heart of theatreland at the Garrick Theatre in the West End. The cast and production team have hit new heights of name droppable names. Costumes are designed by international fashion designers including Giorgio Armani, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Pucci, Paul Smith, Amanda Wakeley, Tomasz Starzewski and Bruce Oldfield.

The show runs for 5 nights only (12 - 16 October 2010), with 6 performances including a matinee on 16 October and a black tie gala evening at the Banquetting House on 14 October. (Tickets for the latter have already sold out)

Tickets are priced between £20 and £65 and all proceeds will go to the the charity Dementia UK  with the aim to raise over £250,000.
